My name is Dewa Rai, and I’ve lived here my whole life.
What can you expect on a nature walk? Our car will pick you up at your hotel around 8 o’clock in the morning. Please remember to bring drinking water, walking shoes, sun hat and camera. After about 30 minutes from Ubud we will arrive at our starting point, one of Bali’s oldest temples. Then we start walking through a lush jungle landscape accompanied by the sound of the flowing river. Bright flowers and beautiful butterflies are part of the scenery, and soon the landscape will be more open when we enter agricultural land dominated by rice fields.
Please see my Facebook photos and photos on Flickr to view more images of my nature walks.
The bird life is rich here with many eye-catching kingfishers. On clear days you can see the charming but isolated little temple Pura Sibi Alit, where we will take a rest. Maybe a farmer taking care of his cows will open us a young coconut and you may wish to go to the Sangsan river to sample holy water. The cycle of the seasons, the weather conditions and the group’s wishes determine matters.
Back at the main road, our car will be waiting. The length of the tour is between 3 and 4 hours. Then we go to nearby Lebih beach with its black sand, colorful fishing boats, beautiful view of Lembongan Island and traditional fresh fish warungs (restaurants).
On the way back to Ubud we pass a traditional village where we can stop to see everyday life of the Balinese people.
I look forward to sharing many happy memories with you!
